DESERT FIRE / LEATHER BOUND POUNDS - DOUBLE LAUNCH

Sunday 31 May, Melbourne you are in for a treat. Desert Fire return to the stage to celebrate the launch of their debut single "R.A.D.I.O" recorded and produced by Ricki Rae at Lighthill Sound Recording and Mastered by Bill Skibbe at Third Man Mastering (Detroit). "R.A.D.I.O" demands that you grab the reins from its opening riff, and then hold on for dear life, as the track caterpaults you through a sonic journey of raw, energetic punk/rock bliss. Lyrically the song pokes a tongue-in-cheek view of the music industry and all its "rollercoaster-like" ups and downs. 

To help celebrate the band has also pressed a Limited edition 7" single at Third Man Pressing which will be available for purchase at the show. With guest vocalists Jackie and Monny (aka Desert Flames) on board, this will be a show not to be missed!

 

Leather Bound Pounds is four friends coming together to realise wild and random musical concepts. Sometimes intense, sometimes tender. Never entirely serious. Their debut self-titled EP was recorded as a series of live takes at Wrangler Studios in Melbourne's Western Suburbs. While the collection of songs was originally intended only for promotional use and personal keepsakes, the end result was too good not to share, so arms were twisted, and the EP will be available for public consumption! Leather Bound Pounds do what they do - raw and unadulterated - and hope you enjoy the journey. Bonus points to anyone who recognises the origin of the band name!


Joining them on the day will be Melbourne stalwarts, with CICADASTONE (Acoustic), with Mat and Mark performing a special acoustic set.
