Lord Henry + The Upper House
Newly formed bands Lord Henry and The Upper House will double headline to debut at Shotkickers this December. Come out for a vibrant summer’s night of an eclectic fusion of ethereal indie-pop, country, followed by funk-disco with jazz inspired soul grooves.
Lord Henry lead vocalist Chloe West has a smooth and commanding tone, mesmerising audiences with her tonal accuracy and emotional depth. The band’s select repertoire features complex & haunting harmonies, and speaks to the emotional yearning of our shared human experience. If you enjoy popular indie bands like CMAT and The Last Dinner Party, as well as some Fleetwood Mac and Kate Bush, then this is a Melbourne band to watch out for…
The Upper House was formed in 2026 as a tribute to George Clinton’s psychedelic funk ensemble, Parliament. It’s a big band of 13 members with epic horns, trippy synths and satisfying bass grooves. Bringing energy and dynamics to the stage, lead singer Stephanie Smith grew up heavily influenced by Diana Ross and possesses a similar bright & ringing vocal style to the ‘Ivory Queen’ of Motown, Teena Marie. If you share a love for spacey science-fiction themed lyrics, The Supremes styled ‘big backing vocals’, high energy horn sections, and rocking solos from band members, then you’ll be in for quite a treat…
Together, these two bands cater to an array of musical and aesthetic tastes, incorporating songs spanning across the generations, rolled into one melting pot of colour, depth, mood, and energy flows.
