Step into the captivating world of printmaking with First Nations artist Robert Tommy Pau as he leads an intermediate masterclass at CIAF 2024. This intermediate class explores a range of advanced processes including design development practices and printing techniques such as colour reduction or multi-colour printing to bring your work to life.
Participants will work on a 30x30cm block during this class and learn more about the process of design application and preparation for technical printing.
Renowned for his intricate designs and cultural storytelling, Pau brings a wealth of experience to aspiring printmakers eager to explore the intersection of tradition and innovation. Delve into techniques passed down through generations, discover the power of storytelling through art, and embark on a journey of creativity and self-expression under the guidance of a master.

All materials will be provided. Participants will be able to take away their creation on the day.

Day: Saturday 27 July
Duration: 5hrs (30mins lunch break)
Indigenous Cultural Intellectual Property (ICIP) remains with the facilitator. Where ICIP is shared, permission to use this knowledge outside of this workshop is required. Permissions must be sought from the facilitator.
Participants are required to learn about Indigenous cultural protocols surrounding ancestral lore and knowledge and refrain from using and adapting contemporary, traditional, and ancestral knowledges outside of this workshop.
