Bergy Bandroom
bOAT Reboot
with special guests Matilda O'Brien Band and Tony Pain (Cranky)
Bergy Bandroom (Brunswick, VIC)
Saturday, 17 October 2026 1:30 pm
bOAT are back! After a 20-year break, the band returns to the stage, eager to share their unique blend of folk, rock, and psychedelia. Expect dynamic improvisation built around carefully crafted songs that break the traditional verse-chorus mould—shifting from quiet, atmospheric moments to loud bursts of musical madness.
Joining bOAT on the lineup is Tony Pain. Though the hits of his earlier Fitzroyalty darlings Cranky are fondly remembered for their hyped funk and prescient electronica, Tony’s current stripped-down solo shows maintain the incisive social commentary, deceptively sophisticated grooves and superb guitar work that he is known for.
Rounding out this marvellous afternoon is the Matilda O’Brien Band, delivering a spellbinding mix of slow, intense, atmospheric tunes, intricate guitar picking, and glorious vocals.
