STUMPS ‘I’ve Had Enough’ 2022 Tour • Adelaide at Crown & Anchor Hotel (Adelaide, SA) on Friday, 14 January 2022
Sydney trio STUMPS are back to announce their ‘I’ve Had Enough’ Australian tour. Following the release of their debut LP ‘All Our Friends’ in December, the band saw a flurry of media, radio and playlist support for the album: AIR and Tone Deaf feature the record as their album of the week, triple j claimed the single ‘I’ve Had Enough’ as “Arguably one of the year’s catchiest uploads”, and Mixdown Magazine claimed the trio as “One of the brightest bands in Australia’s indie rock scene today."
STUMPS may have only wrapped up their largely successful ‘All Our Friends’ album tour in May, but the band will do it all again in January 2022. Having sold out multiple dates on the previous lap of the nation, the demand for STUMPS was so strong that all dates sold out three months in advance, bar one. This culminated in their biggest Australian headline tour to date.
The band created a unique kind of contemplative dance-rock with their debut ‘All Our Friends. One that would have people swinging from the rafters just as soon as they’re done having an existential crisis. Full of sly, self-aware nods to Brit-pop and the alternative rock of the late 90s and early 00s, the album, produced by Fletcher Matthews, is full of contrasts and contemporary ambivalence that sees the three-piece taking a leap forward, evolving from a band that were finding their feet, to one that draws comparisons to Bloc Party, Gang Of Youths and Talking Heads.
The band have built a loyal fanbase since their inception, winning audiences over nationally via their headline shows, festival slots and supports for the likes of Trophy Eyes, Dear Seattle and Maddy Jane. Kicking off in Adelaide, catch STUMPS once again in support of their debut album ‘All Our Friends’ throughout January 2022.
