Taking their name from a line in Hooray For Hollywood — inspired by the song’s jarring use in Robert Altman’s The Long Goodbye — Any Young Mechanic bring an aptly cinematic quality to their music. The Tarntanya/Adelaide-based five-piece are redefining contemporary folk through narrative-driven songwriting and vivid, widescreen arrangements. Before ever officially releasing music, they have already started building a reputation on the road, turning heads with striking festival appearances at Reading & Leeds and Rock en Seine over the past year, and are set to return to touring throughout the year ahead.
