Teen alt-metal prodigy Maple’s Pet Dinosaur launches her much anticipated debut EP Child’s Play (via Warner Music/In Bloom) in blockbuster fashion at Newcastle’s revamped ‘90s multiplex, The Tower Cinemas- for a one-off, all ages event featuring some on Newcastle’s finest young talent.
“This EP takes inspiration from early ’90 horror pop culture so it was never an option to launch it anywhere else but a cinema. Taking over the Tower and building out a unique experience for people to immerse themselves in the Child’s Play world will be an event we will only do once. A night of teenage rage however, would only be complete with a splattering of Newcastle’s fiercest young bands and I’m hella stoked that Trophy Wyfe, Filthy E and the Clean Teens and Bardvarkk joining me for this all-ages blockbuster”.
Maple’s Pet Dinosaur took the internet by storm when her debut single ‘Lego’ became a global phenomenon via a music video shot on a Ring camera, amassing over 60m views worldwide. The follow up ‘Chorus’ coincided with Maple’s appearance as the youngest ever artist to tour on Good Things festival alongside heavyweights including TOOL, Weezer and Garbage and after whirlwind 12 months, Maple unleashed Child’s Play her heaviest and most uncompromising song yet attracting love from NME, Rolling Stone and Limp Bizkit’s Fred Durst.
