Underlay

underlay is Newcastle based multi-instrumentalist Cody Brougham’s first foray into the solo world. After working behind the scenes in the studio or appearing on stage at various times for acts such as Fritz, OILBARON, Vacations and Chakra Efendi, his self titled debut EP is the first steps of bringing the project’s energetic and unpredictable live set to the recorded world. Combining a mix of jangly guitars, analogue synths and introspective yet brazenly honest lyrics, underlay touches on sounds reminiscent of bands such as Beach Fossils, New Order and The Drums and marks a new beginning for the project after gaining support in the last 3 years in Australia’s underground indie scene.
