The Flannelette Band
Flannelette are a six-piece band from the Illawarra crafting a sound that sits somewhere between jazz, blues and country - nostalgic yet quietly modern, grounded yet expansive.
Fronted by singer-songwriter Therese “Peach” Petre, the group brings together a collection of seasoned musicians with deep experience in storytelling, composition, and live performance. The result is a sound built on connection - to place, to people, and to the small, everyday moments that shape a life.
Drawing inspiration from Australia’s rich songwriting tradition, Flannelette sit comfortably alongside artists like Paul Kelly, Missy Higgins, and The Audreys, while also echoing the broader folk and indie sensibilities of artists such as Laura Marling, Fleetwood Mac, and Boy & Bear.
Their live sets weave together soulful, reflective storytelling with moments of warmth and uplift - songs that capture local characters, coastal landscapes, and the quiet beauty and melancholy of everyday life around the ‘Gong’.
Carefully arranged but never overworked, Flannelette’s music leaves space for feeling as much as sound. There’s an honesty at the core of everything they do - unpolished in all the right ways, driven by songwriting, chemistry, and emotional weight rather than trends.
The result is intimate, timeless Australian music that feels lived-in, human, and deeply familiar.
