The Refuge launch their debut album "LOVE, DEATH, PROPHECY" on the 6th of November at Shotkickers joined by Arabella & The Heist, AltaV and The Henchmen
Originally formed as teenagers in the cold, dense Otway rainforests of regional South-West Victoria (Apollo Bay and surrounding areas), The Refuge has gone on to support Wolfmother, Southern River Band and Shihad. The band's sound is best described as paying homage to stoner rock, grunge and metal legends of the past whilst remaining grounded with a modern rock palette.
As an album, LOVE, DEATH, PROPHECY is a riff driven journey that builds upon the three topics within the album's title. Viewing modern life through an apocalyptic lens, the album strives to have an ethereal yet emotional quality that pushes the bands signature Grunge/Stoner rock sound into various different avenues of the rock genre, including instrumental and acoustic tracks, as well as the band's love for brooding, long epics.
This night celebrates the band's first album along with The Refuge's ampolishments up until this point, hailing in some of the best rock acts from Melbourne as supports, if you are a lover of riffs and heavy music - this is a night not to be missed!
