Antipodean songwriter Skyscraper Stan is a true believer in the power of words. One sentence, massaged just the right way, can be an entire story in and of itself. Across a career spanning the better part of a decade, two studio albums and countless live performances, he has established himself as one of the most thrilling lyricists working in Australia today. Endless months on the road, “singing for his chips”, observing the lives of people in town and country and putting it all down on paper has sharpened Stan’s songwriting to a fine point. 

With a four-octave range, Jo Davie crafts contemporary folk that resonates with lyrical grace and technical finesse. The 2024 Carol Lloyd Award winner has earned comparisons to Joni Mitchell and Laura Marling, delivering performances that have captivated audiences across Australia—from Sydney Festival, to the QPAC Concert Hall, to Woodford Folk Festival and beyond. Fresh from supporting acclaimed artists Ball Park Music, Megan Washington, and Katie Noonan, Jo has established herself as one of Australia's most compelling emerging voices. Her debut EP Nothing Comes Free weaves love, loss, and impermanence into lush storytelling that strikes the perfect balance between delicate vulnerability and power.
