The Burning Hell is the musical project of songwriter Mathias Kom and multi-instrumentalist Ariel Sharratt, based in the woods of rural Prince Edward Island, Canada.

Their narrative-driven songs are packed with an abundance of literary, historical, and pop-cultural subjects, incorporating a frequent fixation on apocalypse and ruin into work that celebrates participation in a mutually created, ever surprising, and even occasionally beautiful world.
Ariel and Mathias weave bass clarinet and electric guitar through their humourous and sometimes heartbreaking story songs about gannets and garbage, ghosts and capitalism, labour and robots. In their live sets, they emphasize presence and connection, affirming a commitment to the political power of sharing music.
In 2027 they'll be touring Australia again, with stops at Port Fairy and Nannup Music Festivals, and a side trip to go birding at the Werribee sewage treatment plant (which they have a love song about). This will be their very first gig in Adelaide.

They'll be supported by local hero Pete Wilson - You’ve no doubt seen or heard Pete around Adelaide in some capacity over the years, whether that be as a member of the band Cheeseworld, as a solo performer or maybe on Three D Radio’s Thursday breakfast show –‘The Sound of Muesli’ with Pete & Tones.
Pete playing solo on stage is a rare treat. This will be his first show in 2 years. The last time he played was on this very same stage to a sold out Wheaty (supporting The Public Servants) as part of the 2025 Fringe. Expect some fine folky pop ear worms. Expect lyrics you can all relate to. Expect a few friends to join him on stage and expect the right balance of seriousness, silliness and crowd participation in a set that should prepare you nicely for The Burning Hell.
