The Oyster Festival
The Oyster Festival is back on Saturday 19th October at Sandstone Point Hotel with an ocean of things to see and do, suitable for the whole family!
Head over to the gorgeous shores of Pumicestone Passage and experience different taste profiles of oysters from all over Australia. Enjoy freshly shucked oysters, seafood and wine stalls, celebrity chef demonstrations, live music, kid’s rides, entertainment and more! PLUS Pinkfong’s Baby Shark will be performed live!
The Oyster Festival isn’t just a great day out but celebrates the history of the land in which Sandstone Point Hotel was built on. In 1875, James Clark operated a very successful Oyster Farm out of Pumicestone Passage.
During its peak in the 1900s, he owned over 30 dredging sections and employed over 25 families all working in the area, which was unheard of at the time. Now restored, the Oyster Shed has been in operation since 2015 on the waterfront of Sandstone Point Hotel serving fish and chips 7 days a week, paying homage to its colourful past.
