Wesley Anne (Northcote, VIC)
Sunday, 18 January 2026 6:00 pm
Singer-songwriter, guitar fingerpicker and harmonica player Dan Dinnen is hitting the front bar at the Wes with hepcat blues drummer Benny Gerrard for a Sunday session of lazy shuffles, upbeat grooves, and deep swampy juke joint vibes.
Dan has won a swag of Australian blues music awards for his work as a solo performer, for his studio recordings and song writing, as a front-man/vocalist/harp-slinger with Greg Dodd & The Hoodoo Men, and most recently for his powerhouse duo Dan Dinnen & Shorty featuring Anthony “Shorty’ Shortte, one of the Australian blues scene’s most well-loved, exciting and original drummer/percussionists.
"One of the most authentic blues voices on the scene, but with an individual sound" – Helen Jennings, PBSfm
Benny Gerrard is one of the loveliest, most hip dudes on the planet and a sought after drummer on the blues scene, bringing an old school vintage sensibility to everything he plays on. Benny played drums on Dan’s 2016 album “Keep On Stirrin’ the Pot.” This gig is going to make Dan and Benny smile a lot.
