Loose Content is a three-piece indie/alt-rock band hailing from the hinterland of Byron Bay and now splitting their time between the Northern Rivers and Naarm/Melbourne. Formed during early high school by close friends MiLLa (bass and vocals), Sam Sanders (guitars) and Aquila Porter (drums & BV’s).

By the time they were 18 years old, Loose Content had impressed on the stages of esteemed Aussie festivals such as Byron Bay Bluesfest & Woodford Folk Festival and, more recently, have been more than holding their own being invited on the road to support respected national acts such as Magic Dirt, BOA, The Cruel Sea, Rum Jungle and many others as well as performing a head-turning set at the SxSW Festival.

The band released their debut EP ‘Costumes’ on Impressed Recordings to coincide with Record Store Day in April 2025; launching the seven-track EP (which was recorded by Nick Di Dia whose credits include Rage Against The Machine and Bruce Springsteen) with four shows in one day across the suburbs of Sydney and a blistering live recording of the key cuts for Rolling Stone magazine which you can see here. The band followed with an acclaimed east-coast tour in May of the same year - their first headline run.

Loose Content are following in the footsteps of bands like The Birthday Party and The Drones, who cut their teeth and built their musical output on residency gigs and tales of shared housing, while Loose Content’s studio sound draws inspiration from artists like The Police, Radiohead, and Midnight Oil.

In July 2025 the band return to the studio to start work on their sophomore EP with Dan Luscombe (The Drones, Amyl and the Sniffers, Bad Dreems) which they aim to release across the second half of the year in support of more headline shows and a run of dates with The Preatures and the legendary Grinspoon. Loose Content. Raw. Powerful. And on a roll.
