The Seven Ups Xmas Bonanza

Melbourne’s heavy-groove combo The Seven Ups are hosting an end of year party at The Bergy Bandroom to cap off another year.
The bands sound journeys from deep-funk, to psychedelic fuzz and on to synth laden post-psych, and the band has shared bills with artists including Budos Band, Khruangbin and King Gizzard. The band will be premiering a handful of new tunes as well as classics from their five-album strong back catalogue.

The Seven Ups will also be joined on stage by award-winning guzheng player, Mindy Meng Wang, to perform their 10minute epic track “A Free Blowing Wind” for the first (and probably only) time live.

Also joining the bill on the night will be very special guests support artist Foggy Notion and Gusto Gusto.  

The Seven Ups music has been featured in Wax Poetics (USA), album of the week (twice) on PBS fm, album of the week on Eastside FM and Beat magazine, top 10 on KEXP (USA), nominated for the Australian Music Prize and their music continues to receive airplay on BBC Radio, KEXP, Triple J, and community radio around the country.

Career highlights for the band so far have included festival spots at Meredith Music Festival VIC, Womadelaide SA, Blues on Broadbeach QLD, Riverboats VIC, Queenscliff Music Festival VIC, Strawberry Fields NSW, Bleach Festival QLD, Rainbow Serpent VIC, Falls Festival VIC, White Night VIC, Moomba VIC, Subsonic NSW, Bello Winter Festival NSW, St Kilda Festival and many more.
