C.O.F.F.I.N - BYRON BAY
The Arts Factory Byron Bay (Byron bay, NSW)
Thursday, 18 June 2026 6:00 pm
From the Northern Beaches of Sydney, C.O.F.F.I.N (Children Of Finland Fighting In
Norway) are a four-piece, high-intensity rock’n’roll band, whose sound ventures
through boogie, blues, proto-punk to early-hardcore, with guttural lead vocals from
behind the drum kit, high voltage lead guitars and razor-sharp rhythms.
Described to be “reminiscent of Motörhead to the gritty, pub rock ethos of the Cosmic
Psychos” (Double J), “A kind of Midnight Oil from the gutter” (Visions)” and “a
roaring, hip-shaking concoction that comes with a splash of Radio Birdman, and a
generous dash of Celibate Rifles” (The Age), C.O.F.F.I.N have carved a unique
corner of Australian rock’n’roll, nodding to the rich and raw history of their
predecessors; Coloured Balls, The Angels or AC/DC, with their own Northern
Beaches lens, touching on ideas such as what it means to be Australian, the
connection we have with the rest of the world and the pursuit of unity in a world of
injustice.
Since 2005, C.O.F.F.I.N has sent crowds into joyful, hip-shaking swing with full-force
power, infectiously melodious riffs and a sheer authenticity to the rock’n’roll genre.
From the Manly Youth Centre at age 12 to some of the largest festival stages
globally, the 20-year DIY dedication of C.O.F.F.I.N has amassed fans worldwide over
5 studio albums — with their latest work, 2023’s ‘Australia Stops’ receiving an ARIA
nomination for ‘Best Hard Rock / Heavy Metal’ Album, as well as a National Live
Music Awards win for ‘Best Hard Rock / Heavy Album’.
