Keen on seeing a progressive metal band in Melbourne? On the 3rd of May at Bergy Bandroom, you can enlighten yourself with post-grunge and progressive metal originals, as well as covers from bands the likes of TOOL and Queens of the Stone Age.

Hailing from Melbourne, Australia, 3-piece progressive rock & metal outfit Lapidatus blend a hard-hitting and punchy sound with melodic guitars and composite basslines. Composed of 18-year-old singer and guitarist Zane Blumeris, his father Craig on the drums, and 18-year-old Ryan Holloway on the bass, a unique and fresh sound is fostered that captures the excitement of Queens of the Stone Age and the dirt of Alice In Chains. Just getting started on the music scene, Lapidatus hope to establish themselves as a polished live outfit whose songs and performances capture both the light and shade of their songs and their love of music.

“Recognition of Absence”

Dark. Brooding. Intense. Energetic. 'Recognition of Absence' reminisces the sound of Queens of the Stone Age and Alice in Chains, but with a darker and heavier twist. This song, written by our singer and guitarist, has developed into a behemoth-sounding track which blends the sounds of grunge and nu-metal into an all encompassing monster.
