THE TIME HAS FINALLY COME! MIDNIGHT VIOLET are officially launching their first Album ‘Gardens We Grow’! For Midnight Violet, the Naarm-based folk rock quintet, this record is an enchanting yet natural welcome to the next phase of the band's sound.

After releasing a series of earworm singles, the band is headed down a new path that expands on their roots, whilst utilising the context of an album as a opportunity to explore new sonic landscapes and textures while still embodying their core identity and values

The band will be launching Gardens We Grow at Brunswick’s Bergy Bandroom on February 21. Joined by JAN and LAST EMBERS, the gig marks a new chapter for Midnight Violet’s music.

Join them to celebrate the release and immerse yourself in the world of Midnight Violet's summer soundscape. Come for a dance and stay for a story, let yourself take a journey through the garden of love, life and possibility.

☆ JAN ☆

Your favourite artist's, favourite artist. Hot off the release of his self-titled EP, be there early to experience the wonder of JAN.  JAN lives in Narrm and grew up in Lutruwita / Tasmania. His name is pronounced like yarn. His songs help him express his thoughts and emotions. They sound like broken melodies from half-remembered dreams, with heaps of synths. Jan is currently LTD (living the dream) getting local radio airplay for his self-titled EP and playing gigs across the town with his favourite artists.

☆ LAST EMBERS ☆

Last Embers is a five-piece alternative rock band hailing from Melbourne united by a love for raw, unapologetic, guitar-driven music. What truly sets Last Embers apart is their poetic lyricism, brought to life through dual vocalists whose harmonies blend in striking synchronicity, soaring above a powerful, emotionally charged sonic backdrop.

Their bold debut single, Apples, marks the beginning of a compelling musical journey — a taste of what’s to come from a band that refuses to play it safe. With more music in the pipeline and a growing reputation for electrifying live shows, Last Embers are quickly carving out a space in the landscape of modern Australian rock and roll. Passionate, poetic, and undeniably powerful, they're a band you won’t want to miss.

☆ MIDNIGHT VIOLET ☆

In the expansive world of indie folk-pop, Midnight Violet emerge with a relaxed overture. Blending playfully romantic lyricism with graceful instrumentation, the Melbourne based group, creates a whimsical atmosphere that is undeniably magnetic, yet modest. With influences from the likes of Mazzy Star, Leonard Cohen and Elliott Smith, the band is passionate about crafting a lyrical landscape and delving into the every day human experience that we all tend to overlook.

Fronted by the enchanting vocals of Mia Haber, Tom Crane and Tom Riley on guitars, Paige McKenna on drums, and Josh Ten on bass and piano. It is no secret that the collective have all been familiar faces amongst the underground indie folk-pop scene in Melbourne, packing out rooms such as Mamma Chens, The Retreat Hotel and The Tote.

Following the release of their debut EP ‘The Commute’ in 2023, a string of singles in 2024 including ‘Caught in The Middle’ and a live EP to start off 2025, Midnight Violet have officially escaped the studio to release their first album, ‘Gardens We Grow’.
