10:40pm - 11:25pm: THE JENSENS

The angst and fervour of The Jensens debut E.P. ‘Everybody Talks’ and the introspective rock of follow up E.P. ‘Sexless’ combine to create somewhat of a first phase in the bands career. Hard hitting rock that typified the late teen hedonism they were all experiencing.

They played incessantly around Australia for two years in support of the two records, delivering a live show with staggering energy.

Following the release of ‘Sexless’, the band took a short hiatus from the stage. Locking themselves away inside various living rooms, warehouses and studios, they honed their craft as songwriters and producers, seeking to create an authentic sound, that more closely reflected their eclectic tastes.

Just 3 months after ‘Sexless’, the band released their mammoth 10-minute single ‘Emotion’. Encapsulating elements of funk, disco, prog and art rock, the band made a bold statement that reflected a sea change in style and perspective.

In August 2019, The Jensens released their debut album ‘Hyacinth Haze’. A bittersweet record that lifted their songwriting and production to new heights.

Now, with a memorable Splendour In The Grass set and an east coast tour freshly under their belt, The Jensens are gearing up to release new music early in 2020.
