altimate.SHOWDOWN is the genre-spanning competition unapologetically celebrating everyone who is different and uniquely fierce, with a focus on showcasing diversity and local performers.
MEANJIN WE ARE BACK BABY!!! Get ready for Season Three in 2025! We are ready to make an even bigger splash of loud positive noise with you and couldn’t be more excited!
We know you are ready to unleash EVEN MORE alternative star-power and we are so excited to see both new and familiar faces in the competition!
Performers from all across the underground performance worlds of Drag, Burlesque, Sideshow, Comedy, Music, Performance Art, Dance entertainers (AND MORE!) will battle it out to earn the title of Champion and walk away with a juicy grand prize! CHAMPIONS from Season Two of both Naarm & Meanjin walked away with a prize pack of over $10k each... So stay tuned for this years prizes.
Taking place across 5 nights in August and September in the heart of Fortitude Valley at The Brightside, each night will be hosted and judged by local legends of Naarm’s fringe entertainment world:
Heat One - Thursday 7th August
Heat Two - Thursday 14th August
Heat Three - Thursday 21st August
Heat Four - Thursday 28th August
Grand Final - Thursday 18th September
Our collective first four seasons in Meanjin and Naarm were incredible community bonding, camp, masterclasses in diverse artistic talent and queer excellence night after night.
