The Apartments, formed in Brisbane and led by Peter Milton Walsh, are holding their inaugural Adelaide show at The Wheatsheaf as part of the 2027 Australian tour.
The Apartments work now extends over 30 years and 10 albums. The Paris Review describes Peter Milton Walsh’s songbook as “…a world of smoke and gin and hazy regrets and horns and strings, like Leonard Cohen covering Sinatra’s In the Wee Small Hours of the Morning—what adult life could feel like if you were lucky, then unlucky.”
That’s What the Music is For was released in October 2025 and was listed as #1 on Bandcamp’s Essential Releases. “It’s the kind of record that demands you stop what you’re doing and pay attention, then rewards your focus with careful, patient storytelling and heartbreaking melodies”
Led by singer songwriter Peter Milton Walsh with Tim Kevin on guitar and keyboards and Jeff Crawley on trumpet and percussion toured Australia and France in 2025 and 2026, following a string of solo and duet shows in San Francisco and Mexico City and this acclaimed Apartments line up continues for the 2027 Australian tour.
The Apartments will perform two sets - expect a night of new and old songs and stories from the world of The Apartments.
