Bake Music finally hits Melbourne with a new event series, every second Friday at the Bendigo Hotel. After 3 years of gigs in Brisbane the project has moved south but with the same grounded goal of providing affordable and community based gigs for nights of Music, Beers and Mates.
Doors From 8:30 FOLK-ROCK/JANGLE LINEUP FIRST WEEK - COME ON DOWN AND SAY HI.
Cetano is an emerging folk-rock band based in Naarm/Melbourne. Their unique sound swims between genres, blending earnest lyricisms with gently powerful instrumentals that wrap around their audiences in warm, mournful embraces, playing a mixture of new and old originals, all unreleased and unrecorded – for your ears only.
Hicktown Barnaby is a band with a lot to prove. Since the release of their debut DIY album Crusher and a huge launch show at The Brightside, HTB have been deeply involved in the community of alternative music in Brisbane City. Sharing the stage with established acts such as Winter McQuinn and Ball Park Music, they are making themselves known as a band to pay attention to. Unafraid to do that which is frightening, Hicktown Barnaby booked their own 2025 Australian East Coast tour. As for the music, it’s textural and vulnerable and anxious and exciting, and the shows are full of singing, yelling, dancing and screaming.
Much as their band name would suggest, Gardiner is a group that prioritises authenticity; ‘all natural’ as they would describe it. With vocals that vary from soulful crooning and whispered laments to impassioned shouts, stripped back instrumentals and intense vulnerable lyrics, watching them play is guaranteed to be an emotional ride.
