Award-winning Los Angeles based New Zealand singer-songwriter Greg Johnson returns to Australia for the first time in 15 years - partnering with Goldenhorse guitarist Ben King to present Greg’s ‘Every Song Has A Story’ tour.

Greg Johnson will perform at The Junk Bar, in Ashgrove for a 3pm Sunday afternoon show on March 31.

Greg will delve into his songbook from across his entire career, 1990-2019 – picking from gems like ‘Isabelle’, ‘Liberty’, ‘Save Yourself’, ‘Now The Sun is Out’ and ‘Don’t Wait Another Day’ and so many more.

In essence, an unstoppable stream of songwriting classics, which have netted him New Zealand music awards, eight Top-20 albums and the coveted APRA Silver Scroll.

Says Greg: “I can’t wait to head downunder in March and this time I’m really delighted to be including Australia as part of the tour. The duo approach with Ben is perfect for this career-retrospective of songs and their supporting stories. We’ll play two sets and look forward to making a great night of it in each city, catching up with old friends and meeting new”.

These Australian dates are hot on the heels of this tour being presented in New Zealand. The critics say:

"Greg Johnson says every song has a story and he proved exactly that with some surprises and revelations that enchanted and intrigued the audience at Auckland's Galatos” David Boyle,, October 2018.

"There’s an urbane unpretentiousness about it that makes his songs beautiful and affecting. It all seems so effortless and direct, the songs, the musicianship, the conversation. Toward the end of the gig, you just really get the feeling no one wants him to stop. Greg and Ben take their bows to long applause from the packed house. No one moves. Thankfully they come back for an encore.” Michael Hawksworth, The Hook, review of Hawkes Bay Arts Festival appearance, October 2018.
