"Melbourne pub rockers Private Function have announced their latest record St Anger will be released next month. The band have also shared the two lead singles ‘Talking To Myself’ and punk Midnight Oil cover ‘King of the Mountain’, a track that has been kicking around their live set for a while. The title and album artwork are less a homage to the infamous Metallica record of the same name, and more a leer at the metal behemoth’s tendency to sue.

If that wasn’t enough to rile Lars Ulrich up, Private Function are embarking on a St Anger national tour too, setting off at venues around the country in September, August and October. Tour dates are below.

Fri Aug 30
Crown & Anchor, Adelaide

Sat Sept 7
Vinnies Dive, Gold Coast (matinee show)

Sat Sept 7
The Northern, Byron Bay (evening show)

Fri Sept 20
Vic On The Park, Sydney (free entry)

Sat Sept 21
Dicey Riley’s, Wollongong

Thu Sept 26
The Eastern, Ballarat

Sat Sept 28
The Tote, Melbourne

Sat Oct 5
Chopped Festival, Guildford

Private Function’s St Anger comes out August 16 via Disdain Records. Tickets for their national tour are available via oztix."
