Nikodimos

Nikodimos is a Greek-Australian multi-instrumentalist artist from Naarm (Melbourne). He lives and breathes music - whether it is for his own projects, collaborating with others or simply picking up an instrument, Nikodimos' technicoloured essence is unmistakable the moment he touches sound. His last album  ‘What Colour is the End’ was released via Berlin based label XYZ123 (The Orchard/Sony). He toured the world showcasing this album and supported Alfa Mist (UK) when he came to AUS. He also sold out his album launches all across Australia, as well as his recent tour of Japan.

Nikodimos is one of the only featured instrumentalists on Hiatus Kaiyote’s record ‘Love Heart Cheat Code’, playing flute on Everything’s Beautiful. 

Nikodimos’ release ‘NIKODIMOS WORLD’ earned the title of Album of the Week on both RRR and PBS. It also earned a nomination for best Rnb, Soul or Gospel Work at the Victorian Awards and was pressed to vinyl by Equinox Recordings - the label which first pressed Hiatus Kaiyote’s ‘Tomahawk’. His next release is currently in the final stages of post production, and will be released internationally on Berlin based record label XYZ Records. 

Nikodimos has performed and collaborated internationally with the likes of Hiatus Kaiyote (AUS), Eddie Chacon (US), John Carrol Kirby (US), Wayne Snow (BER), Genesis Owusu (Aus), Adrian Eagle (Aus), Laraaji (US),  KYE (Aus), Agung Mango (Aus), Mammoth (Aus), CD (Aus), Tikogo (Erykah Badu) (BER), 1300 (AUS/STH KOREA), Lee Scott (UK), Sonny Jim (UK), Jehst (UK), Nelson Dialect (AUS/UK), Morriarchi (UK) and Ricewine (AUS/THAILAND) just to name a few.

Nikodimos’ live performance can be done with a live band performing his own original material where he sings and plays multiple instruments - the band features violin, drums, vocals, piano, guitar and bass. Nikodimos performs woodwinds and keys with the project.

He also has a 12 piece orchestra that he performs with for larger and more unorthodox spaces which highlights his own deep and spiritual compositions, and he can also perform solo where he uses multiple instruments and his computer to create live improvised beats that are immersive and keep a crowd pumping. 

Nikodimos also plays and tours locally and abroad with various acts such as Proto Moro (Electrified Woodwind), Komang (Keys and Saxophone), Horatio Luna (Electrified Woodwind), Kuzich (Electrified Woodwind and vocals) and Finn Irregular (Electrified Woodwind). This grants Nikodimos with a wealth of experience and inspiration which is constantly audible in his production work and solo material. His innovative music pushes boundaries, yet it evokes a timeless quality. 

He’s also worked internationally and has collaborated with names such as Wayne Snow, John Carrol Kirby, Eddie Chacon, Tikogo (Erykah Badu) and Nappy Nina just to name a few.
