MIRROR CLIPPERS
The Line Up:
MIRROR CLIPPERS are Naarm/Melbourne duo Daniel Brates (drums, synth, vox) and Adrien Siboulet aka SiB (guitar, bass, vox)
Somewhere between CAN, BEAK> and Thee Oh Sees, Mirror Clippers carve out a sound that is relentless, fast, hypnotic and gentle all at the same time. The pair fuse psych, doom, kraut-rock, and avant-garde into a two-piece storm of analogue fuzz-driven power rock. While both share vocal duties, Daniel anchors drums & synth and Adrien simultaneously plays guitar & bass through an original hybrid instrument — a uniquely Melbourne-made monstrosity nicknamed The Gass.
Mirror Clippers create a sound far bigger than two people should.
Their self-titled debut LP only available on BANDCAMP explores themes of love, AI betrayal, grief and release, carried by grooves that stretch from chaos to beauty in a single breath. Recorded live in just one day at Soundpark Studios in Northcote with Andrew Hehir aka Idge and mastered by Mikey Young (Eddy Current Suppression Ring), Mirror Clippers’ debut album captures the raw intensity of a band that thrives on catharsis, tension and unworldly tones.
FUTURE TONGUES - Kraut-rock minimalists from Geetroit. This three-piece outfit crafts hypnotic instrumental soundscapes built on repetition, restraint, and raw atmosphere. With a tight, bottom end and minimal, pared-back guitar, Future Tongues draw deep from the motorik tradition to create immersive sonic landscapes that feel both primal and lucid. Their self-titled debut album, vinyl released, captures the gravitational pull of their subtle, unfolding sound.
THE NOVA FIENDS make music that simulates the sound that someone with a tuberculotic hacking cough makes when they are subjected to slow cutting. An endearing combination of horrible ineptness and hideous noise, our greatest ambition is to make music that causes roses to wilt and babies to retroactively miscarriage 18 months after being born.
FLOCKS - Voted noisiest, most heavily reverberated, least intelligible, number one garage/shoegaze band to come out of Bayswater’s industrial estate 12 years running.
