Pīwaka is an Aotearoa-born, Naarm-based indie-folk artist.

Taking his name from a New Zealand-native bird, Pīwaka is known for his fingerpicked nylon-string guitar, husky vocals, alternate tunings, and thoughtful songwriting. This show will officially launch his debut album, Slow, released on streaming services on 17 May.

Years in the making, Slow is the crystallisation of Pīwaka’s world-building. Drawing on influences such as Radiohead, José González, and Bibio, the album marks a significant evolution in Pīwaka’s sound, with expansive, orchestral arrangements.

Pīwaka will be joined by a 7-piece ensemble for this very special one-off performance.

Romaan is an Ethiopian-born, Australian-raised artist blending folk-pop, chamber pop, and blues through intimate storytelling on mental health, relationships, and lived experience.

Dark atmospheric folk with a rare emotional depth. Eugene Fox crafts songs that feel both intimate and otherworldly. A uniquely bittersweet voice in Australian music.
