Queensland indie rock outfit Blind Corners are set to release their highly anticipated debut album Sink or Swim on August 25, 2026.
Blind Corners are a regional band from South East Queensland. Growing up in their hometown of Tamborine Mountain, where live music venues and lively rock pubs were few and far between, they learned to create their own opportunities. From bush doofs and paddock parties to takeovers of local cafés and art galleries, the band built an underground music scene. This unconventional approach to performing helped shape their sound into a raw, gritty, and powerful force, driven by stories and experiences drawn from their community.
Recorded earlier this year at The Grove Studios with producer/engineer/mixer George Carpenter (Hollow Coves, Karl S. Williams, The Delta Riggs), the nine-track record captures a band pushing beyond convention and leaning into creative risk.
Blending elements of post-punk, Australian rock and dance music, the band's intentionally unconventional songwriting process avoids traditional choruses and embraces extended bridges, to explore the “reefs and peaks” of each track. Sink or Swim is driven by waves of alt-rock guitar riffs, pulsating basslines and infectious grooves, underscored by vivid storytelling and nostalgic vocals.
Blind Corners energetic and magnetic live performances have quickly established them as one of the East Coast’s most exciting emerging acts and they’ll be touring alongside the release throughout August, hitting major Australian cities and the regional towns of Queensland.
With “Sink or Swim” Blind Corners deliver a fearless debut - loud and bold, but deeply vulnerable and human - an honest haiku for the modern day.
