Roused At! and Contort Yourself are proud to present JAMES K [USA] live at Black Bear Lodge, with special guest Fatshaudi + more TBA. 

A version of james K was born. Comprised of bones, reactive metals and a larynx with freckled eyes that catalyzes that mix, she can now see through all the schemes. This is the truth. When she chews gum, it’s not clear which one of her personas does it. Since their first release in 2013, describing them separately is grunt work as they switch places, cosplay each other and would most likely lull you into a lonesome dream. Together, they know how to produce, sound, film and edit. Thus, they are brought to the table, performing and DJing in clubs and theaters, along composers and children alike.

James K returns for her sophomore Australian tour, celebrating her latest LP 'Friend' (2025) out via AD93

She distills the musical eclecticism of her earlier work into a crystalline interpretation of dream pop, using the surface blur and forward motion to keep weighty ideas in flight. Her production is still suffused with mist, but it’s grown bigger, brighter, and more fun. The pillowy atmosphere supporting her voice now has a rapidly shifting and dynamic ground floor beneath it, one that veers from drum’n’bass to downtempo, IDM to G-funk.
