The Mitchell Bell Quartet Presents, Short Stories: The music of Wayne Shorter in combination with original jazz inspired by the unique musical philosphy of Wayne Shorter.
In 2024, Mitch Bell dedicated a period of study to the compositional process and philosophy of Wayne Shorter. This period of study led to a deep passion for the music of Wayne Shorter as well as a collection of original jazz tunes based on Shorter's compositional style.
Mitch Bell (guitar), Max Irvin (saxophones), Charlie Green (bass) and Harold Brysen-Dean (drums), make up an explosively creative jazz quartet that take audiences on a journey through beautiful harmonies and deeply moving rhythms.
Connected to the jazz tradition through their combined love for the history of jazz as well as their forward seeking exploration of modern imporvised music, the Mitch Bell Quartert are one of the most exciting and adventurous emerging jazz groups of the Brisbane/Meanjin scene.
The bar and kitchen opens from 1:30pm, with live music from 2pm downstairs in the Skukum Lounge ... join us!
