John Kennedy with Murray Cook

Australian singer-songwriter John Kennedy returns from Europe for an East Coast Tour this summer. He has survived a stroke, crossed continents, and emerged with an album that sounds nothing like business as usual.
Following his stroke in 2025, Kennedy relocated to Berlin, where former bandmate Moe Jaksch challenged him to leave his familiar pop-rock territory behind. Their Rocking Chair Studio sessions produced three songs Kennedy dubbed The Berlin Trilogy, a tongue-in-cheek nod to David Bowie’s Berlin years. The project grew after Kennedy moved to Spain, bringing together an international cast. The result is a fresh, contemporary take on Kennedy’s distinctive Urban and Western sound, adventurous, collaborative and, in Jaksch’s charming words, “not the same old Kennedy shit”.
Kennedy will be playing in duo made with his bandmate, original Red Wiggle Murray Cook. The show will feature songs from The Berlin Trilogy (And Other Collaborations) album which is available now on I-94 Bar Records. The Urban and Western hits will also be heard.
Brisbane's own Hillsborough (duo) will be opening proceedings on the night.
Kennedy will also be promoting his new music memoir, Have Songs, Will Travel.
