‘Your New Friends’  launches Wednesday July 29th at Shotkickers on High Street.

Designed as a night to showcase Melbourne’s most exciting rising acts, ‘Your New Friends’ invites you to discover your next favourite artist and connect with others over a shared love of live music.

The concept is simple: three acts, one night, bring a friend, and meet someone new.

'Your New Friends’ is the Northside’s answer to a yearning for real connection and shared experiences, thanks for listening.

STOCKINGS

A mix of poignant, heartfelt lyricism and unbridled, honest angst, Stockings take audiences on a sonic journey filled with feeling. Their self-titled debut EP looks at life through the snapshots of key memories; from a mixture of post-punk tracks made to be blasted through car speakers, through to softer indie pieces that feel incredibly personal.

SILVER PONIES

Forming in Melbourne at the start of this year, Silver Ponies take their name from Lynd Wards wordless novel The Silver Pony, a book about imagination and solitude. Guitarist, pianist and songwriter Josef Milan started the band after moving to Melbourne and shifting his focus toward lyrics and the piano - a departure from his previous work, and the beginning of something looser.

JETSKI

The solo project of Jesse Dowley (dogworld). Influenced by artists such as ML Buch, Pavement & The Fall; Dowley describes the project as “an annoying atmosphere and uncomfortable vibe, which people have come to love and hate collectively.”
