Pop-songstress merci, mercy shares another catchy, witty new single, taking an unapologetic approach on ‘Angel’. Alongside the song's release, merci announces a run of shows for the coming months, with headline performances set to see her perform all along Australia's east coast from Melbourne to Toowoomba.
Written with trusted collaborator Robby De Sa (MAY-A, Gretta Ray), 'Angel' expresses a fresh side to the singer-songwriter's repertoire, merci's confident vocals and head-turning lyrics standing out alongside sharply layered pop beats - a dynamic and bold new sound that fits merci well.
Of the new song, merci, mercy says, “Angel is about being constantly sad and tired but not allowing that to stop you from being a hottie. It's the perfect song to get ready to, to ensure you remember to be yourself and not care what others think.”
‘Angel’ is the second taste of new music from merci this year, following her loveable single ‘The Word Love’ and the release of her third EP Like An Orchid, late last year, which gave fans the popular cuts ‘Silver Lining’, ‘Shovel’, Lonely & Horny and ‘If You Had Any Friends’.
Now with 27 million streams to her name, merci, mercy’s songs have seen rotation on triple j locally, with global support from Jack Saunders and Mollie King at BBC Radio 1, Zane Lowe at Beats 1 as well as extensively across Europe. Live, merci’s on-stage presence continues to blossom.
