The Neo
Collective consciousness generators, sound wave therapy and serotonin stimulators from the wild north of Australia are back in Adelaide Thurs 5th of March at the Gov for a full-power, soul-fuel live music experience.
With trumpets, saxophones, trombones, harmonica and flute, the members swap and play multiple instruments with flair and passion. On the stage or off, plugged in or unplugged, it matters little to these troubadours who mix it up with the audience moving through the crowd like a New Orleans conga line. The NEO have toured Europe and Australia and opened for John Butler, The Violent Femmes and played with members of the Cat Empire.
The NEO released their much-anticipated new album, Fear Of The Unknown, featuring tracks created in their extensive travels and tours from the Top End, Arnhem Land, the east coast and The Byron Bay Blues Fest, the snowy mountains, The National Folk Festival and NZ. With sounds of high intensity dance-funk, juicy dub, reggae and succulent jazz and blues, The NEO are an amazing spectacle and sound tsunami not to be missed.
In Adelaide The Neo will be supported by the Country Town Collective. Everything from alt-folk and country to roots music, old school rock, Beatles-esque and a lot in between, their stories have a lyric ingenuity belied by their beguiling melodies. The effect they've been told is something “like the sun shining through the clouds”.
