Dr Sure’s Unusual Practice – No Pigs in Oz
No Pigs In Oz — an Unusual tour.
Off the back of their biggest year to date, international festivals and a bucket-list appearance at Meredith you might expect to see Dr Sure’s Unusual Practice in an oversized room, but true-to-form they’re keeping it unconventional. Taking their No Pigs/Desksitter 7” on the road, with the promise of a new full-length record imminent, DSUP have put together a run of unusual spaces: a warehouse, a bowlo, a DIY loft and a secret rooftop.
7 years, 3 European tours, 3 LP’s and a hoard of EP’s and mixtapes into the project, Dr Sure’s Unusual Practice continually distill the ills of the age into ambitious, thought-provoking art. Driven by Dr Sure’s DIY approach, sometimes the message has preceded the method, but this new era is guided by a new vision — DIT, Do It Together.
Recorded live at Secret Location Studios — a 1950’s Fairfield warehouse with a band room the size of an airplane hangar — the forthcoming album marks DSUP’s first full-scale studio production. With Dan Luscombe (The Drones) producing and Michael Badger (King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard) mixing, the brief was simple: capture the band as they are. No click, no tricks, just a band playing like the room is full.
Only thing left to do is fill it — tickets on sale now.
*FYI Naarm secret rooftop show is in the inner north, address and details announced closer to the date. It is a matinee show.
