Over 30 Years of Electronic Music HistoryFor over three decades, Tycho Brahe has been a mainstay of the Australian electronic music scene, crossing paths and sharing stages with global icons.

Australian synth band Tycho Brahe was founded in Brisbane in 1993 by Ken Evans and Georgina Emery, operating out of their secret base, Tycho Central - a bunker full of vintage synthesizers, drum machines and science fiction memorabilia. The current live lineup of the band also includes multi-instrumentalist Sam Morrison. Tycho Brahe have had numerous releases, traded remixes with a number of bands, appeared on compilations the world over, and shared the stage with acts such as The Human League, VNV Nation, John Foxx, Covenant, Pseudo Echo, Real Life, Eurogliders and Machinations. Ken Evans is also associated with Peter Hook & The Light (ex-New Order/Joy Division) as their programmer, making occasional onstage cameos with them in Australia, Canada, and at The Sydney Opera House.

• The Human League: Toured Australia together in 2009 and 2024, plus visits to their famous Sheffield studio.

• Peter Hook & The Light: Principal Tycho Brahe member Ken Evans has served as programmer for Hooky since 2015, even joining the band on stage occasionally for cameo appearances.

• The Tycho Bar: Their private Brisbane studio bar is a legendary late-night sanctuary where touring international artists stop by for exotic cocktails – visited by Devo, Happy Mondays, Midge Ure’s band, Peter Hook & The Light, and many others...
