Come get radioACTIVE with 3MDR for their annual Radiothon and support people powered radio!
Friday 9th of October will see a bevy of local and Naarm-based talent hitting the Sooki Lounge with live music from 6pm, serving a kaleidoscope of punk, metal, jazz, ska, Celtic doom and more.
Performing across 2 stages, we will have local favourites LOST CANOE, trash punk experimental trio PRIMARY HIGHand and ska punk ROARCUSS to keep your earbuds happy.
Rock out to the iconic brother-siter duo FIRE OPAL from the Hills, get rowdy with blues-punk TRASH AND THE TREASURES and groove in gamelan style to funk and jazz improv of seven piece THE JAWA PITU BAND.
Delivering sax, punk and rock and roll, post-punk queens PLASTER OF PARIS are ready to shred, and coming all the way from Footscray for a first time appearance at Sooki is BANJZIG, a Celtic trad doom metal band with some tales to tell (Irish dancers in tow!).
Soul funk dub will be on tap with DJ NOKTUN, STEVE BAKKAMOONA, ROBBIE RYAN, DJ MIKEY GOODFELLOWspinning in the downstairs Jungle Bar.
This event is part of 3MDR’s annual Radiothon fundraising drive. Dedicated to community broadcasting and championing local music, arts, cultures and the environment, 3MDR broadcasts 24 hours a day 7 days a week from Upwey.
