EXILES - ‘Persona’ Single launch w/ Special Guests
Emerging from Melbourne’s underground, EXILES have built their name on intensity, with sweat soaked rooms, relentless rhythms, and a live presence that borders on confrontational. With their latest release, the band take a decisive step into deeper, darker territory.
Drawing from the brooding theatricality of Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds, the stark minimalism of Joy Division, and the slow burning tension of Interpol and The National, EXILES are refining their sound into something more spacious, deliberate, and emotionally exposed.
Their new single “Persona” marks a turning point. Where earlier releases thrived on urgency and chaos, “Persona” lingers, haunted, restrained, and quietly explosive. It is a track built on atmosphere as much as impact, trading immediacy for a sense of weight and introspection.
Still rooted in post punk, EXILES now explore the space between notes, the tension, the silence, the slow unravel. It is a sound that feels less like a performance and more like a confession.
With this evolution, EXILES are not just amplifying what they have done before, they are refining it into something more focused and deliberate.
