Join curator, scholar and expert, Dr Adrienne Edwards for a talk on the work of Julie Mehretu, one of America's most celebrated abstract painters – 'Julie Mehretu at the Precipice of the World: Line, blur, color, pixel'.

As the Associate Director of Curatorial Programs at the Whitney Museum of American Art, and co-author of Julie Mehretu (2019) – a retrospective monograph and a New York Times Best Art Book of the year – Edwards considers the methods and stakes of the artist's distinct approach to abstraction. Currently on display as part of the MCA's major summer exhibition, Julie Mehretu: A Transcore of the Radical Imaginatory, Dr Adrienne Edwards surveys the artist's varied and dynamic body of work, followed by a Q&A. Tickets include exhibition entry.

Co-presented with the Power Institute and the Museum of Contemporary Art Australia, as part of the Visual Research Program.
