Our final showcase of the year is here,
We bring you a final 4 band lineup playing late this coming Thursday the 21st of November.
If you went to the last couple you'll know to show up, and show up early.
TYDE brandishes a rich soundscape that ebbs and flows between jazz, prog, pop, funk, and folk. The Brisbane majority female 8-piece have a truly genre-fluid sound, combining percussive finger-style guitar riffs, funky bass and horn lines that’ll stick in your head for days, and heavy prog moments for your head-banging pleasure. Paired with the soulful voice of front-woman Ella Belfanti, TYDE will have you both grooving to infectious hooks and trying to work out what time signature you’re dancing to. Their repertoire calls to mind artists like The Cat Empire, Hiatus Kaiyote, Vera Blue, and Franz Ferdinand - their energetic live show seamlessly knits this broad range of sounds together.
Driven By early psychedelic acts of the 70's and 80's, Satin Soul formulates a wide variety of sounds into each piece of music. Forming in the early parts of 2023, Bryn Ballantine (Vocalist, Rhythm) started creating songs with indie rock and psychedelic riffs. Accompanied on stage by Patrick Collins (Drums) and Jada Barnes (Bass), the outfit has been bringing these songs to life on stage ever since.
Sir Lennon is a high energy funk filled 6 piece band. With influences like Silk Sonic, Thundercat, and Stevie Wonder, Sir Lennon guarantees a set filled with crazy solos, intimate soulful moments, and tunes to boogie down to from start to finish. With the duo front man/woman line up of Harry and Charlotte, backed with a beyond mental band, they bring out covers you know and love as well as impactful, catchy original music.
Ari Isabella is a whimsical singer-songwriter creating powerful stories through her music, and sharing it from the bright music scene of Meanjin/Brisbane. Her unique folk/indie sound is heavily inspired by the 60’s and 70’s sound and atmosphere, along with inspiration from powerful songwriters such as Joni Mitchell , Stevie Nicks, Janis Ian, and Amy Winehouse
