Divers
Divers are a Melbourne based alt-indie band making music for people who like their guitars wiggly, their lyrics slightly wonky, and their front of stage banter at least mildly entertaining.
Their debut album ‘Odd Dog in the Capital’ (out May 1 via Community Music) is exactly that. Part heartfelt, part odd, and occasionally more put together than the band themselves.
They’ve picked up plenty of steam with recent singles “The Great Tree” and “Head Chef,” earning rotation on Triple J and spins on Seattle tastemaker KEXP.
“The Great Tree” cracked triple j’s most-played songs, peaking at #41, while “Head Chef” kept things moving with further rotation across both stations. Somewhere along the way, they’ve also clocked over 100,000 streams on multiple releases, which they check just often enough to stay humble.
On stage, Divers have built a reputation for high-energy sets and the occasional unpredictable moment, touring nationally with The Terrys, and supporting acts like Le Shiv, Velvet Trip and Rum Jungle.
With ‘Odd Dog in the Capital’ finally out, Divers are hitting the road this June, bringing their slightly chaotic, surprisingly catchy indie rock to venues across Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide and maybe more?
Expect guitars, feelings, and at least one band member forgetting something important.
