Venue Information for Gardens Amphitheatre, Darwin, Darwin, NT
Many locals and visitors regard the Gardens Amphitheatre in the heart of the city's delightful George Brown Darwin Botanic Gardens as the best outdoor concert venue in the Northern Territory. A major upgrade of the facility by the Darwin City Council in 2004 has done much to reinforce that view.
The amphitheatre's spacious stage is equipped to cater for the latest sound and lighting needs and excellent change rooms and toilet facilities have been provided to keep both performers and patrons happy.
Seating at the amphitheatre remains as it should be for an entertainment outing in a balmy tropical city - a BYO rug spread out on the lawns under the night canopy of a millions stars. More than 7000 patrons can fit comfortably within the amphitheatre complex.
The Council welcomes bookings from groups and organizations wanting to use the amphitheatre for concerts or other community events. Hiring rates differ for commercial and community use. Bookings can be made through the Council's Customer Services on Phone 08 8930 0622.
