DUSTY LIMITS returns to his home-town of Brisbane, for an intimate show at Skukum Lounge, The Junk Bar

A singer, comic, compere and director and one of the leading lights of the London 'new cabaret' scene, he has appeared everywhere from Joe's Pub in New York to backroom bars in Berlin singing everything from Cole Porter to Portishead, as well as his own witty and acerbic original compositions. He is noted for his brilliant interpretation of the works of writers as diverse as Weill, Brel, Bowie and Mitchell and for his powerful, three-octave voice.

Born and raised in Brisbane, he moved to London in 1999 with a one-way ticket paid for by coming second in a karaoke competition at the Beat nightclub. Now based in the UK, he has graced the cover of Time Out London, who described him as 'The Trailblazer' of the new cabaret scene. He is a notorious figure on the Edinburgh Fringe, where he has programmed and hosted numerous cabarets including the legendary Bongo Club, as well as performing in six solo shows. He won the 2012 and 2013 London Cabaret Awards for 'Best Host/Compere' and his 2012 solo show Post-Mortem was shortlisted for a Time Out & Soho Theatre Award and subsequently enjoyed a sold-out run at the Soho Theatre as well as a one-night-only showing at the Brisbane Cabaret Festival.

He has shared the stage with some of cabaret's leading figures, including Meow Meow, Amanda Palmer, Holly Penfield, Sarah-Louise Young, Le Gateau Chocolat, Frisky and Mannish, Bourgeois and Maurice and Miss Polly Rae. He has directed at Central School of Speech and Drama and been interviewed on BBC Radio 2 about cabaret history.

In 2016, he and long-term collaborator Michael Roulston' released 'Grin' an album of 13 original songs. For this special show in Brisbane, Dusty will perform a mixture of his favourite covers and originals plus premiering some new songs destined for his next album.
