Tamam Shud is an Australian music institution, but one that continues to grow and produce fresh, innovative sounds. A psychedelic, progressive and surf rock band that formed in Newcastle in 1964, its live appearances are special events.

The Shud have been through many changes. They released two Australian classics in “Evolution” (1969) and “Goolutionites and the Real People” (1970), contributing the core of the soundtrack of the surf movie “Morning Of The Earth” (1972) before their break-up.

Reformations in 1993 and 2002 (the latter for the Long Way To The Top concert series) opened the door to a new and enduring chapter and  2016 album “Eight Years Of Moonlight”.

Eight Years Of Moonlight” is a collection of all Lindsay Bjerre compositions. It is the culmination of eight years of creation, development and work by vocalist Lindsay Bjerre and the band members in collaboration with John Cobbin and Marianne Slavich at Moonlight Studios in Sydney.

The line-up is built around the core membership of Lindsay Bjerre (guitar and vocals), Tim Gaze (guitar), Peter Barron (bass) and Nigel Macara (drums.)

After 40 years, they still love writing and playing music together in the same spirit as they  always have done.

2017 has become one of their busiest years, with a benefit show for a Cambodian orphanage rolling into a tour of Queensland, May 6 at The Bridge Hotel in Roselle marks their return to a city stage.

Support will be female vocal duo The Lyrebirds.

This is an 18+ event.
