Gwyn Ashton has spent the last 30 years recording and touring Europe with some of the world’s biggest names in rock and roll and blues. His band The Born-Again Sinners play material from Ashton’s nine award-winning studio albums, two of which appeared on Amazon Top 100 Charts, simultaneously.

Ashton’s hectic touring schedule has included dates in Australia, Corsica, Germany, Netherlands, Belgium, France, Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Finland, Russia, Brazil, Hungary, Serbia, Bosnia, Montenegro, Croatia, France, Spain and the UK. He is one of the hardest working musicians on the circuit, today.

An inductee in the South Australian Music Hall of Fame, ex Swanee, Stevie Wright, Jim Keays axeman Ashton grew up playing the Australian circuit and re-located to the UK in 1996.

The Born-Again Sinners are: Mick Bryant bass, keys, guitar, backing vocals and Enrico Mick Morena drums - Kate Ceberano, Shane Howard (Goanna), John Schumann (Redgum), John Brewster (The Angels), Swanee, Rockin' Rob Riley (Rose Tattoo), John Dallimore, Big Joe Turner (bassist for Isaac Hayes, Al Green, BB King).

In 2001 Ashton was ranked at number 3 position in Guitar Part magazine’s Guitarist of The Year after Jeff Beck and Gary Moore and praised by the likes of Robert Plant, Johnny Winter and Deep Purple’s Don Airey, who has played on two of Ashton’s albums. Hubert Sumlin, Canned Heat, Walter Trout and Mick Fleetwood have all invited him to play with them onstage.

He’s opened for BB King, Status Quo, Mick Taylor, Buddy Guy, Rory Gallagher, Ray Charles, Junior Wells and many others and appears at festivals and clubs in the UK, Brazil, Malta, Australia and all over Europe. Ashton has recorded with: Kim Wilson, Robbie Blunt, Chris Glen, Ted McKenna, Don Airey (Deep Purple, Whitesnake, Rainbow) and Gerry McAvoy & Brendan O’Neill (Rory Gallagher). Ashton replaced Thin Lizzy/Motörhead guitarist Brian Robertson fronting Band of Friends - a celebration of the music of Rory Gallagher, featuring his former band members Gerry, Brendan, Lou Martin and Mark Feltham. He has also opened for Peter Green, Johnny Winter, Robin Trower, Jeff Healey, The Yardbirds, Magnum, Ten Years After, Dr Feelgood and many others.

Adelaide’s legendary guitarist Chris Finnen will open the show and there will be a jam session afterwards.

The Gov will have friendly staff asking any dancers to return to their seats; a sad state of affairs we know, hopefully dancing will be allowed soon!
